The Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School Music Ensemble captivated the audience with their incredible talent at the LEAD Youth Symposium: Offline Realities, Addressing the Perpetration of Violence and Digital Dependency in Young People, held on Thursday, 1 May 2025, at The Colebee, Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside.
The ensemble delivered wonderful performances of Locked Out of Heaven (Bruno Mars, 2012) and Hotel California (Eagles, 1976), leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
Demonstrating their dedication and passion for the creative arts, the students committed to a full-day event, arriving at school by 7.30am and returning at 6.00pm.
Organised by LEAD Professional Development Association Inc., the symposium was a valuable professional learning event designed for youth and family support workers, primary and secondary teachers, and health professionals. Attendees walked away with practical strategies to address:
- Digital Dependency: How screen addiction is impacting young people's mental health, relationships, and academic performance.
- Perpetration of Violence by Youth: Understanding the root causes and tackling the issue from the inside out.
- The Link Between the Two: Exploring how digital dependency and perpetration of violence by youth are interconnected.
