Music Ensemble perform two songs at LEAD Youth Symposium

Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School Music Ensemble perform two songs at LEAD Youth Symposium

The Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School Music Ensemble captivated the audience with their incredible talent at the LEAD Youth Symposium: Offline Realities, Addressing the Perpetration of Violence and Digital Dependency in Young People, held on Thursday, 1 May 2025, at The Colebee, Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside.

The ensemble delivered wonderful performances of Locked Out of Heaven (Bruno Mars, 2012) and Hotel California (Eagles, 1976), leaving a lasting impression on attendees.

Demonstrating their dedication and passion for the creative arts, the students committed to a full-day event, arriving at school by 7.30am and returning at 6.00pm.

Organised by LEAD Professional Development Association Inc., the symposium was a valuable professional learning event designed for youth and family support workers, primary and secondary teachers, and health professionals. Attendees walked away with practical strategies to address:

  • Digital Dependency: How screen addiction is impacting young people's mental health, relationships, and academic performance.
  • Perpetration of Violence by Youth: Understanding the root causes and tackling the issue from the inside out.
  • The Link Between the Two: Exploring how digital dependency and perpetration of violence by youth are interconnected.
