Record of Student Achievement (RoSA) Information

Record of Student Achievement (RoSA) Eligibility

The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) issues the Record of School Achievement (RoSA) to eligible students who leave school before completing the Higher School Certificate (HSC).

The RoSA records completed Stage 5 (Year 10) and Preliminary Stage 6 (Year 11) courses and grades, HSC (Year 12) results, and where applicable participation in any uncompleted Preliminary Stage 6 courses or HSC courses.

To be eligible for a RoSA, students must have:

  • Completed the mandatory curriculum requirements for Years 7 to 10 (All course mandatory hours can be found on the NSW NESA website)
  • Completion of all assessment tasks to a minimum standard.
  • Completion of all coursework to a minimum standard.
  • Maintaining an overall and class attendance rate as specified in the Department of Education School Attendance policy (85% or higher overall).

Students who do not qualify for a RoSA

  • Students who leave school without finishing Year 10 are not eligible for a RoSA.
  • Students have been issued an ‘N’ determination for ONE mandatory curriculum course

If students don’t complete a course’s requirements in both assessments and/or coursework they will receive an 'N' determination.
