Travel training
Travel training is offered to students in Years 7 to 9. The last 17 years, on average 45 students participated in this program every year. It operates every second Friday and focusses on developing life skills associated with travel on public and private transport, shopping for daily needs and wants, communication with members of the community, calculating bus and train fares, as well as encourages students to develop appropriate social behaviour. The program designed to give students the opportunity to learn to function in the community independently.
The travel training program prepares our students for the work experience program as well. Travel training teaches the students to identify work opportunities for work in the community.
