Everyone Belongs - Harmony Day 2024 video

Harmony Day 2024 at Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School

On Thursday, 27 June, Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School celebrated Harmony Day. Our theme this year is “Everyone Belongs.” This theme reflects our commitment to fostering unity, inclusivity, and mutual respect among all members of our shared community.

The day featured live musical performances, a cultural dress fashion parade, international food stalls and engaging cultural activities. It was a culmination of the hard work and contributions from our dedicated staff and students, who collaborated with the local community.

Starting at 11:00 am, the festivities included a cultural concert, outdoor performances, a fashion parade, and food stalls representing cultural groups from around the world - Indigenous Australia, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands and more. The main events unfolded at the Basketball Courts, Hall Rec Area, and Oval.

Harmony Day is an annual school celebration that embraces the rich diversity of cultures within our school community. It provides an opportunity to promote a sense of belonging, encourage school spirit, and showcase the unique talents of our staff and students through the lens of culture and diversity.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to family members and business community donors for their generous contributions. Special thanks go to local businesses such as Golden Manoush, Student Biryani, Abu Salim Supermarket Villawood, The Butcher on Wellington and Saddick Halal Meats. Additionally, we commend our school staff for going above and beyond in preparing, supervising, cooking, and overseeing all the activity stations on this memorable day.
